96 XP not reaching full rpm or speed

Hey guys,

I haven't used my XP in over a year and finally had the chance to take her on the lake. When I last used it, I would reach around 7k rpms and 59-61 mph depending on conditions. This last time out, I could only muster 48 mph at 6100 rpms.

I removed all the old fuel and replaced with new before running it. The only other symptoms it had were low idle when hot (around 1000 rpms) and did not like to start after warmed up.

It' has a spec 2 pipe, 85mm nozzle, novi max flows, msd water injection and stock head.

Sounds tired. What's that compression looking like?

Just checked compression. 151 on mag side 148 on pto.

it was ripping my arms off last season now just feels lazy.

The only other thing I can think of is that its something in the grey box???? My key lost it's programming so I sent my mpem to Nick to get a new key. Is it possible something was reprogrammed incorrectly or I hooked it up in the box wrong?

Are any jets clogged in the water flow of the pipe? Rave valves sliding up and down easily with the caps off? Pipe gaskets leaking at all? Any exhaust fumes under the seat? Dragging the anchor?(just kidding about that last one)
