96 XP cuts off after 30 seconds

Do i need a start/stop button ,or can i just touch switch wires together.

Would Dess post make it cut off after 33 seconds.

I have to cross solenoid to start.

I have continuity when probing switch wires.

You should only have continuity on the start switch when you press it.

Can it start it by touching the 2 wires.

My ski will start by jumping solenoid ..Runs 30 seconds and shuts off.
