And before all you ask if it’s the starter that is clicking no it is not.

A few things to check....first see if you can turn the engine over by hand, need to verify nothing is preventing it from turning. You're not providing much background, but it is assumed you just got this ski. You could have a locked jet pump or something with motor preventing it from turning. But it should easily turn by hand, reach down at the PTO flywheel to check.

If it does turn easily...move on to the starter solenoid/starter system as a focus area, but first...assure you've got a fully charged battery, if it's been sitting before you bought it, they don't have good current sometimes even after a good charging. DON"T jump it on the ski or even charge connected on the ski, this causes issues you don't want.

If you have a fully charged battery, verify you're getting 12 volts to the starter solenoid when you press the button, then verify the starter is good by jumping the solenoid poles with a screwdriver, the engine should easily turn over...

Do those things then provide an update...

I completely agree with this

10-4 I will do that and reply later on tonight after work I appreciate the help

But it should easily turn by hand, reach down at the PTO flywheel to check.

It should turn easy without the plugs in, but with the plugs in you should feel some good resistance from compression. Y/N?
Everything else is good procedure though.

Back ground story.

I got this seadoo off a buddie (free) I rebuilt motor top to bottom took out the oil injection n what not. Plug the box in and what not (no beeper)

The motor is out of the seadoo on the bench right now all electrical is hooked up. And grounds etc

With no key on the des post o have power running through the black box as well as the grey box everything is powered I can put test light on it and make video to show if you would like when I hit start bottom nothing happens it doesn’t turn over

Your gonna have power through the electrical boxes all the time whether key is on post or not. Just the way that its wired

I will see about getting new Solenoid tomorrow

You directly tested to rule it out? Applied 12 volts to the little plug to throw the large poles? while attaching a DMM to the large poles and confirming it closes?

So why are you trying to start the engine or turn it over outside the ski? did I read that correctly?

Yes you read that correctly and I have been building g this ski for a year now and the hull is going to get some body work and paint this weekend so I took motor out so o can mess with it to get the electrical to work I had same problem last year but I ya e up last year and started finishing my bike project

I have power to 1 poke but not the other when I click start button

Are you getting 12 volts on the little plug going to the solenoid? Are you getting two beeps when you put the lanyard on the DESS post?

You haven't tested the solenoid like I described, nor have you tested the starter like I described. You can continue to chase your tail if you want, but it's easy tests to perform to narrow it down.

Put the new solenoid in it. It turns over and has spark so now to try to get it to fire on the bench. Thanks all for the help I will keep updated and post if need other assistance thanks again to all
