i have a 1996 seadoo spi it was running excellent yesterday but after pulling a friend on the tube it now has a hesitation while under w.o.t. I checked the fuel lines, fuel filter, also there is a noise coming from the pump could it be wear ring issues?
Thank you

this is my first pwc so i'm new at it.I checked the wear ring and it looks pretty beat up so i'm hoping thats the noise i hear coming from the rear. Will that also cause my hesatation if the impeller is touching the ring under load.

Wear Ring

A bad wear ring will cause cavitation. When your ski cavitates it feels like if you were driving a car it feels like the clutch is slipping. The ski is over revving for the speed you are going.

Could be something else but the wear ring is the most common. Check the wear ring by visually inspecting it, look for chunks missing and check the clearance between the impeller and the wear ring, should be no more than .04." you can check it with a feeler guage.

While you are there check the impeller for any dents or dings.

it feels like its not getting enough fuel and the rpms drop.but only at wot could the fuel pump be getting weak.or did i hurt it internally by pulling a tube.
