96 speedster impeller shaft housing.

Just wondering why my left impeller has a white housing and the right one does not. Any takes?

Think the white one is actually the plastic cover they had on older models over the driveshaft, other one is missing the cover.

It’s just a cover that was supposed to keep weeds and ropes out but the typically just break.
