I quickly "scanned" some of the threads and pardon me if I overlooked the subject.

I just bought a "good" 2nd hand 96 XP 787. On test drive it was OK, but when I took it to the dam for the whole day, I was a but ..., ok lets cut it short.

I quickly realized that the carbs needed serious attention as I gathered the ski had been garaged for more than 2 years and it wasn't running that well at all, especially the dying out upon acceleration from idle (flat spot). I stripped them completely, super cleaned them and inspected all parts to the best of my knowledge. Re-assembled, refit, low set to 1 turn and hi to 0. Installed a new inline fuel filter and also cleaned the spin-on filter. It fired-up immediately and I had to bring the idle down from it's previously set position (which I think some  did just to get it going. It now starts up every time first time, only problem is, it has a hellava flat spot, so much so that I have to play the throttle to get it to rev up, otherwise it just dies out. I found this vid on youtube, reflecting exactly what my XP is doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7l9Qi2I51M

Could someone please give me some advise, want to take it to the river on new years day:bigear:
