battery was dead so put it on charger, now i hear a noise coming from the rrear of the ski when i press the button but its not turning the egine over.

It still could be your battery, take it out and take it to an auto parts store, have it tested under load.

The noice you hear is from the solenoid in the rear electriacl box.
So the problem can be the solenoid valve ho doesn't give the power of the baterry to the stator.
It can also be the stator how is dammage or the battery how has not teh power to turn the stator.
