Hey Gang!

New to boating in general.. nevermind the Sea Doo :) I bought it last week and had it out on the water - worked like a CHARM - lots of power, zoomed right along... until today...

I was towing a tube and it had NO up and go... Out tot he middle of the lake, it sputtered along, and then it barely pulled a tube. Full throttle was maybe 15 mph. It stalled so I figured I'd let it cool down a bit... after a few mins I hit the start, not seeing that the tow rope was under the boat, so, to make matters worse, I ended up wrapping the tow robe around the drive shaft! I got it back on land and an hour later, all the rope was off and it started just fine. So I thought I'd take it back into the water. Again, no guts.. then it ran for a few mins and then stalled. I started it, an even pushing the throttle to full, the RPM didn't go up.

I shut it off and the kids went swimming ( we were close to shore, so not really concerned) and after half an hour, I started it back up, but it seemed to heat up a little too quickly, sputtering and spitting.. while full throttle was up to about 15 mph again, it just had no guts and did not want to stay turned on. It was time to get it out of the water.

Any clues as to what it could be? I know NOTHING about boats.. or engines for that matter, but it does appear strange that it worked nearly flawlessly for the past 3 days and today it had no power - pushing the throttle to full power it did not go past idle at times.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated...

I should also add... it is much louder now than it was over the past few days - I just went and lifted the engine cover and started it - it is loud...and I saw a bolt and a couple of washers laying on the bottom. Lastly, the engine light is now (red light on gas gauge).

I think I'm going to have to take it in and get it looked at
