I ran my boat all summer long, last year. Purchased the boat in Cleveland, OH, and towed back to Denver, CO. Starboard motor was coughing and spitting quite abit and seemed that the motor had to be run in choppy water to get it to come up on plane, but once we had it on plane, it ran perefectly. I keep the boat garaged (Heated) and I did not Winterize. I had been having problems with a short in the Starboard Starter and decided to wait until this season to have the work done on the boat. I wanted to have the carbs jetted for the higher altitude and the Starter issue corrected. I took the boat to the local Sea-Doo dealer (authorized service and repair) and left it to be worked on.
I'm told that both motors are Hydro Locked and they've given me a quote of $2500.00 per motor, installed. Any advice? Is there a way to free the pistons wothout damage. I'm not super mechanically inclined.

How long has it been sitting? Even in a heated gargae, there will be residual water left in it that will corrode and rust the internals. You could get lucky and maybe the rings are juist rusted up. You may be able to just take the plugs out and put some oil in the holes and let it sit for 24 hours. Then try to break it free by hand. On the other hand though, the engines may be toast. You can get 2 rebuilt motors yourself and swap everything for under 2000 total.
