I have a 96 GTX with the roatax 787. I rebuilt the carbs and set it to factory specs leaned the the low speed screws a little because it was burning rich. The high speed screws are all the way in. Sitting in the water if you punch it, it jumps out off the water and takes off like a bandit. It idles 1500rpm and is smooth. If you slowly accelerate it feels like it is under strain until it hits 5000rpm and then it screams all the way up to 7k rpm. Runs about 52mph. Between 3k rpm and 5k rpm it feels like it is straining itself. If at any time you punch the throttle in that range of 3k to 5k it jumps out of the water and takes off. There is no hesitation on the throttle from dead idle to mid range to full. It seems really sensitive to the throttle. It prefers to run at 5k rpm or more. Im new to the jet ski so maybe this is how it usually runs. I read you can adjust the rave valve to lower the rpm's that are required to open the exhaust more but I thought I would ask and find out a good answer before proceeding. The rave are flush with the black plastic right now.
