96 GTX Hood Removal

Hey Guys,

I recently picked up a 96 GTX with a rough hood. I found one online and picked it up. I was hoping that it would be quick and easy disconnecting the wiring from the gauge cluster to the rest of the boat. While there were several quick connect clips, I'm finding some inseparable wires that go all the way from the hull to the gauge clusters. Am I going to have to cut and splice these wires? Or is there something that I'm missing here? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I just pulled the wires and gauges out of my 96. Are you following the wires all the way into th hull. Some are pretty long.
