96 GTX Drive squeeling

Hey All,

I am a newbee to the jet ski world but am having a blast thus far until this.

I am hearing an "Knocking" when I'm at idle, once I bring the RPM past idle it goes away. But then when i'm rinsing at the end of a run I notice my drive has a pronounced squeel to when its out of the water. It is not constant, but comes on instantly lasts for a second or two, then ends for a second or two. It sounds like a bad bearing or something to me but not knowing what all is down there don't know where to start?

1/2 of me would like to milk it for the remainder of the season, (maybe a couple more runs) then tear into it over the winter, but don't want to cause MORE damage.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks for anyone who chimes in.

Welcome to the seadoo forum. It sounds like it might be a Jet Pump bearing. You might want to pull the nose cone off the pump and change the grease and inspect the bearings.

Thanks! that doesn't sound too bad. I will try and tackle that in the next couple days.
