New to PWC's....traded some labor for a 96 GTX in need of help, for my daughter.
So as she's patiently (well, for her) looking over my shoulder as I replaced every inch of fuel line, and am now re-assembling the carbs with new kits.
I ran into an issue trying to get the check valve grommet in place. I don't have the "special tool" mentioned in the instructions, but my 2mm hex key has a 2mm ball on it, which promptly pushed through both grommets in the kit. I used oil, tried applying pressure evenly to the grommet and rod....
At this point, I've decided I don't need to replace any more check valves, 'cause I'm not spending $50 on two new kits for 2 grommets! That said, I have two more shots at getting the one I need to do in place.
My daughter won't let me leave the dock until it's running, so any tips would be appreciated.
