Hello everyone. I bought my wife a 96 GSX 800. We have been out with it about 4 times so far but have 1 very annoying issue. The ski will start on the trailer time after time but the minute it is in the water it will not sart without goin full throttle and hitting the starter button about 10 times. Then it barely will run at about 500 rpm at full throttle for about 15 seconds and then all the sudden it just takes off. Now i have alot of exper in the tuning field from my bike building and racing career, but this acts like a computer/elect issue. when it starts it runs all day long. I personally did some high and low speed adjustments on the carbs as it was running rich here in MT. Corrected elevation here is around 6000ft as the gsx was bought in CA close to sea level. I have Idle set at 3000 rpm on the trailer and is 1500 in water with the load. I could be running in the water at full throttle, let off and it comes to a nice idle, hit it and it responds immediatly. If you let it come to a idle in middle of lake, hit the off button and try to restart immed, will not go! And it is not a flooding issue. I do remember back in 96 on the Skidoo snowmobiles, as i was working at a dealer at the time, the DESS system was introduced and had alot of issues. I remember we were doing alot of programming for warrantys. Have the seadoos in this era had any problems with this issue as to starting and need reprogramming from the dealer? I have burnt up two starters in two outings so far and need to find the problem. Has new Battery also. Any help from a Seadoo Expert would be appreciated. Thanks
