96 GSX Seadoo Beep

Hi I was riding my jetski and it was running great. Then all of a sudden it died. I thought that maybe the key came out so I pulled it out and put it back in. Usually when I put the key in there are 2 short beeps and then I can start it but this time there was only 1 short beep and i couldnt start it. I let it sit for a while and it beeped twice again but then when I put the key in later it only beeped once. I was wondering if anybody knows what is wrong with it. Thanks

Your DESS could be wet,dirty, or wearing out. Take it apart and clean it.

where/what is the dess? how would i clean it up and or replace it.

its called a dess post and it is what you plug your lanyard or key on to but you cant clean it or take it apart you have to replace it you can just remove the 4 5.5mm screws in the handle bar cover and then remove the plastic nut on the dess post then you can pull it out the easiest way to replace it is to just cut the wires and but connect a new on in. But that does sound like your issue
