Good afternoon, newbie with a 96, bombardier Spi, I replaced fuel selector, fuel filter and removed carb and had rebuilt, started right up, seems to idle high, took advantage of a warm October day and got it out in water, runs great, faster then I thought.
A couple of questions:
It idles high enough that it moves in water, but if I lower idle it stalls, so I have it set to stay running, what is proper idle rpm setting and how do I check rpm?
I do have a slight oil tank leak at grommet, so hull has oil film in it, will repair this week, the ski seemed a bit unstable side to side, when idling around ramp area, almost rolled twice, but does not seem to be holding water, is this normal? How do I check if bilges are operating? (I’m assuming Bilges are two black boxes on bottom, behind motor?)
How do I go about replacing the grommet on bottom of oil tank?
