So today we was at the lake and the ski rope got sucked into the intake. We took off the grate and cut the rope from the shaft, but some of the rope got sucked into the hull. It feels like there is weight in there when you throttle.

How can I get to the remainder of the rope and get it out?

First DO NOT run the engine any more.. you will just make it worse. The "weight" you are feeling is the friction caused by the balled up rope rubbing the hull.

Now to get the rope out of there. Usually I just turn the PTO clockwise by hand(remove the plugs first) and it has come out. But it sounds like this will not work for you as your rope is really jammed in there. But hey give it a try.

If that does not work you can try to get a razor and/or knife in there and work at cutting small pieces of rope off until you can get it clear.

If all else fails or you decide to just try this first. Pull the pump and nozzle off and then pull the drive shaft.

Don't worry this happens to everyone at least once.
