Thanks, I replaced the oil tank, I let oil flow through the bleed screw. At idle I held the oil pump wide open for 20 seconds but did not see any extra smoke out of the exhaust so I stopped. How long does it usually take?

are your lines filling with oil?

I have black lines so I am not sure.

Do your self a favor a get some 3/32 clear line. i like to look down and see there's oil traveling through. It will travel rather slow...7.5-9.1 ml with a 1500 rpm with a drill at wot on pump for 5 min per line.

Is it possible to replace the lines without removing the pipe? They are way back there. I know the pump worked fine before. How many seconds does it usually take to prime the pump?

Its is possible however a pita..then you need to sure the line is secure which is also a pain...you can use the black lines i would remove them pump side and remove the pump and bench test it. The only way youll know just remember these pumps are bulletproof just make sure its set correctly

Thanks, just attempted to bleed it again, ran it for 60 seconds this time, I noticed a small amount of smoke and a slight RPM drop at idle when I held the pump open so I think I'm good. Thanks for the help

Not a problem bud this is why i like candoo they have a setting to bleed these pumps that locks idle and allows you to actuate the lever to wot the pump

I was having a problem activating this function so I went with the manual method. Is there anything specific in the program that I was missing??

I replaced my lines with clear as mentioned above but it took a while, probably several minutes before they were flowing with solid oil. I put some extra oil in the spark plug holes to ensure lubrication while they filled. I didn't really notice a lot of smoke out the back end but it was a brand new motor and was burning off all kinds of crud at the time.

I didn't have my CanDoo at the time. You were manually holding the oil pump to the equivalent of WOT while letting the engine idle, right?

Yes, I was doing exactly what the manual said. The small oil lines did fill all the way up although it took quite a damn while lol.

Holy crap that is neat !! I need a class on the Candoo. I call it the Can Don't but often it is the operator. LOL

I will say i regret waiting so long to get this tool....Finished the resto on the di....Now the rfi is on the work bench getting resealed...YAY!! Took me 6hrs and a few beers to get the exhaust manifold bolts out....and about two cans of pb...all and all the motor is apart and not one broken bolt....currently waiting for murphys law to take me down lmao....These skis man they keep you on your feet

When they come apart like they are suppose to it is a snap. LOL People just don't take care of the equipment and those that work on them pay the price unless the customer is paying they price. Like you I have saved a few engines that were scrap material. Patience and skill.... LOL Good Stuff.
