Took apart and cleaned my rave valves this morning and noticed that one was inside housing more than other one plus could spin around, the other one would not. Anyone know of what I'm talking about? Took a shortcut and just unbolted whole housing from engine instead of taking whole valve apart. Thanks for an answer.

Should learn to do research. Took everything apart to find a lot of gunk buildup on both valves. Good to go now.

I believe that was the problem. Took both valves apart, cleaned them very good, put them back together and both were the same length. I watched a video on U Tube on rave valve cleaning and went from there. Really simple.

How bad are yours?

Not bad, but there are some spots on the metal where it looks like the shiny "electroplate" has eroded away, about half the size of a dime. The valves are shiny silver and the eroded areas are dull.

I think the previous owner had a lean condition due to grey tempo fuel line crud restricting the fuel flow, so it was hot and the valves got scorched.
