I got a 95 XP with no spark. I was riding it and it quit in the middle of the lake. NO SPARK. Good battery, on/off switch is fine, lanyard switch is fine. ignition coil ohms check out ok, not sure about MPEM but the 33sec timer is still working, not to sure about the CDI as I can't test it. As for the generating coil when i test the ohms (at the mag/lighting plug) it gives me strange readings. when i first tested it read at 10.5 ohm and i tested later it was 4 ohms...so i came to find out that when i turn the engine over by hand the resistance changes and if you stop the flywheel in the right spot its the correct resistance. I installed a new generating coil and lighting coil about 2years ago...any ideas?
