Hello
I have just purchased a 1995 Seadoo sxp sport, took out for the first time and was unable to get the craft to plan out took back to shore took seat off and
noticed I had a filled the hull with water. being on the water I had to drain as much as possible and take out asap.
after I removed and drained I was unable to find any issues with the exhaust water lines or the pipe itself.
I grabbed the driver line a noticed it moved front to back about 1/2" ?

dose this mean the Carbon gasket is bad and would this be where I am getting the water it looks, like this picture

Your missing a hose clamp that holds the boot to the hull circled in red.

Also the two areas in blue should have zip ties to hold that boot on.

Would I be getting the water from this location ? I will get some ties to put on and see if this helps thank you

You will if the big hose clamp is missing where I circled in red, don’t use a ziptie there.

There isn't a carbon seal on this machine. You have the carrier bearing with the double seals, in my opinion a better set up if you keep it clean and greased.

Okay I’ll give it a try and let you know what I find
Thank you again
I have put the clamp on and tried it today and found it is still leaking water for the driver shaft
I believe this means the Carbon seal is bad any suggestion on where to find this for a 95 when I search all I have found online is for 96 and up will this set work ?

so would the seal you are speaking of cause the water to enter at the driver line?
I was trying to see where it is coming and when I got home I put the hose in the HUll and put water in it and seen water coming from the drive shaft in the grate on the bottom.
what seal do I need to replace?

You don’t have a carbon seal, yours uses the carrier bearings and should not have that corrugated boot now that I think about it.

If your leaking at the driveshaft you’ll need the new carrier bearing assembly and the correct rubber mounts.

OSD Seadoo is a great source for parts.

this is what I have found online that this unit only has the carrier bearing and a piece of straight black hose
thank you ill look into this

this is what I found and looks like what I have.

and these will fix the water issues I'm having ?

As long as it’s leaking at the driveshaft then yes. You might not need the knurled steel piece if you fiberglass one built into your hull isn’t broken.

The bottom piece is that the one you are talking about I see it and can move it on mind is it supposed to be glued in to the hull? Mine moves

True.

The upper picture is of the carrier bearing assembly and the hose in the lower picture are the two pieces you need, along with two hose clamps one on each end of the hose.

Like was said, the silver piece in the lower picture is a part that is used to fix the hull if it is broken where the hose attaches. When you have things apart inspect the hull attachment point for any breaks or loosness. Broken hulls are pretty rare, if yours is solid then that knurled piece is not used.

Only do this if the hull piece the hose attaches to is broken, this is not a standard job when you do a simple bearing replacement. This is only meant for extreme cases.

so I was able to get the jet pump removed for the hull and found that the drive shaft moved up and down and side to side 2 to 3 inches and when I grab the carrier it is able to move in a similar way.
I have order the replacement carrier bearing and sleeve along with the 140mm gasket for the rear housing
and I did have to fix the drive shaft sleeve through the hull like show in the video sent.
when I get back together ill update the post with results
thanks for the help

Good to hear it really isn’t bad but want to check before I put back together and have problems I could fix first

I took it out today the repair on the carrier bearing and seals worked great no more leak
but I have not been able to get the ski to plan out it seem to sound like it is bogging out when gas is given
and have to use choke to get running every time what should I look at to resolve this ?
