Took the ski out to the lake and we ran it all afternoon on Monday ran great, stayed overnight in the camper and the next morning (this morning), got on it and it fired right up. Drove it about 50 ft and it died abruptly. After that it wouldn't even attempt to start, as in no clicking or any sound of starting whatsoever. Its like the electrical system got unplugged somehow but I don't know. The battery is fully charged and I recconnected the battery after making sure it had good contact. Any ideas on what I might need to check?

Ok, after doing some digging here's where I stand. The 5amp fuse keeps popping immediately, unless I unplug the wires going to the flywheel area. I plugged it back in and disconnected the red and yellow wires on the rectifyer in the gray box and it still pops the fuse imediately, so I assume that isolates it to a stator problem? Am I thinking correctly with this? Any and all help greatly appreciated.

The main diode has burnt out of the MPEM. That is normally cased by jump starting the ski. (did you jump start, or start it while on the charger?)

It is reparable, but you have to dig the black stuff off of the MPEM to change it.

No I didn't jump start it or charge it. I ran it at the lake a full afternoon without a hitch and then tied it off still in the lake overnight and rode it the next morning for a few feet and it died and would not restart. How would I go about changing the main diode. Thanks for all your help.
