keep reading for long version!! or heres a short one. what can cause me to fill up with water, just about covering the battery (or even higher?). ran perfect for about an hour. recently changed fuel lines and stuff. now it shut off and was full of water.

long version!!!

Ok, so maybe you've seen my previous 2 threads about problems. Well, I got that all straigtened out. I bypassed stock fuel filter and put one from autozone on, and replaced all the grey lines with 1/4" fuel line from autozone. new plugs, cleand the filters in the carbs (and cleaned the carbs a little bit, didnt take them all the way apart), set high speed/low speed back to stock settings (just to make sure)

it ran GREAT for an hour, best ever since I bought it. i was so excited!

then.. it died. it sounded like it did before the problems, tons of gas, low revs, barley moving, just.."Blaaah"

then it shut off. noticed a ton of smoke come up from under the hood i was like wtf that cant be good!! it went away though thought osmething got wet maybe.. didnt look under seat yet. started but sounded TERRIBLE

turns out, TONS OF WATER IN AROUND THE MOTOR. was past the battery. started to tow it in towards the beach. by the time i got to teh becah it was sooo full of water I really thought that it might sink, it was scary.

so.. pulled it up onto the beach and drained all the water from the plug (it literally took like 7 min to drain it all). towed it back in, tried startin ga few times (just to maybe pump some water out? idk).. it started a little but i sht it off til i could get home and take the plugs out and make sure no water was in it

so i got it home pulled plugs out and turned it over a lot.. nothin comin out so i think im good there. it fired up and seemed to run fine out of water so i think it must have just been the water screwing it up?

anyways.. i checked for cracks and stuff, dont see anything obvious.

i figure 2 things happening, either its getting water in somewhere it shoudlnt, or its not sucking water out the way it should

dont have a clue where to start.. any ideas? ran PERFECT for an HOUR then just died and filled with water

thanks for everyones help previously, as it gave me enough advice/motivation/confidence to do the fuel line job and it worked great, but now this.

any ideas would be aprpcieated! thanks

thats alot of water. I'd say, check the carbom ring assy (under the grey shield), but your ski/yr has the bearing design. May wanna check it out, see if previous owner changed it to the carbon assy, if so, i'd inspect it for cracks/chips. Other than that, put it on the hose, and fire it up, turn water on, see if any lines/hoses/pipe is leak'n.

it could be a defective drain plug or the drive shaft. if it is not an exhaust leak you can fill it with some water from the inside on the trailer and look to see where it comes out at

does it fill with water while it's sitting there without the motor running? If so the you need to reseal the driveling at the PTO. There's a carbone ring in the black hose that could be busted. My 99 GTX did the same thing.Bought a driveline repair kit from SBT and fixed. If it's leaking only when the ski is running then you'll have to look at your feed and return lines to the motor. If it's coming in those amounts I'd almost guarantee that it's your driveline!

thanks for the suggesions and such. just got back from ER tonight hurt my back racing motocross today, haven't had time to look at it yet and dont know how soon ill be able to. walking is #1 on my list right now.. dont think bending over lookin iin the ski is going to happen for a few days or so.

ill be sure to let you know what i find out and you know ill be back if i have more questions

thanks again

Ah man walking is overrated, but now jet skiing is where it's at!!! Just kidding
Hope you get feeling better soon Twentythree!!

incase any1 cares to know what the problem was.. it was simple thank god.. the boot on the exhaust was like half way off. my dad said he noticed it when i bought it and it didnt look right.. it must have just popped off the rest of the way. ran good. first time going out and not gettin towed back in.woohoo. i dont think it helped my back much.. MRI tomorrow. well see how that goes.
