Hello All,
New to this forum.
I just purchased a 1995 spi which runs extremely well, but I’ve been having engine bogging issues after I refuel where the ski starts but I can’t get it to accelerate properly when wanting to take off. After playing with the fuel gauge where I shut off the fuel the acceleration normalizes and the I place it back into the open stage where it boggs down again. I have to do this for 5-10 mins to burn off some fuel...then magically the ski wants to work properly and I have no issues until I refuel again. Then I have to go through the same steps again to get it to perform normally again. Anyone out there ever have that issue and is there a better fix for it?

First off stop running it before you damage the engine.

Sounds like it’s flooding from leaking needle and seat. I suggest replacing the fuel selector, clean the strainer with a new o-ring and rebuild the carb with genuine mikuni kits and needles and seats. If you fuel lines are gray replace with standard 1/4” automotive fuel lines.
