When it rains it pours!!

Ok took the boat out today and for about 2 mins it ran the best it ever has. The starboard motor died and then the port and had to get towed back by a boat with a 9.9 kicker lol.

So back at the dock I checked the fuses and the 5amp fuse was blown for the PORT motor, replaced the fuse and the port motor started and was running fine. The Starboard motor did start but it sounded horrible like something was broken internally then I shut off both motors and now the 5a fuse blows everytime I put a fuse in Port side only. The start/stop buttons do nothing when pressed and both starters can be jumped from the solenoid. The starboard motor still sounds horrible when cranking almost like a knokcing noise and when I pulled the plugs from the starboard motor one of them and grey stuff on it, it looked like grey metal dust.

So now none of the motors start from the start/stop buttons all the gages work when the buttons are pressed , fan and bilge work also and fuses still blow no matter what fuse I put in

so now what?:(

all things custom

contact him/look'm up on this site. He'll fix the 5amp prob, but sounds though the starboard is toast...:(

A compression test on the starboard motor will tell you if it's still good. Let us know what the numbers are.

ok update

so I unplugged both rectifiers and stator connections and it still blows the 5a fuse, when I connect the negative wire to the battery it sparks pretty good like a short. So I assume the board is gone or there is another short somewhere? as for the star motor when jumping the starter the motor cranks and it sounds like two gears not alligned perfectly and an exhaust leak if that makes any sense. another clue would be that my scupper valve (ping pong) is completely black from the exhaust it melted it partially
