When i tried to run the boat (95 seadoo speedster) with just the left motor it would rev all the way but would not go anywhere. I put in some pics could have the seal between the pump and boat caused it The first pic you can see the bottom is missing. I am going to replace the wearring just in case but i think i am just sucking air somewhere. In the book it says there is a certain way to take off the ride plate thing but don't tell you how. I have been told that seal if it leaks can cause it but wouldn't that but wouldn't both pumo do it not just one. Anyway any help would be great.

If it's cavitating bad enough that the boat won't move... you are sucking air.

You should reseal your shoe, and replace the drive shaft seals on the bad side. Also, when you put the pumps back on... replace the foam seal. (don't use RTV)

how do i get the shoe off, my book says there is a certain way to get it off but don't say how? what do i use to seal the shoe, and if it was the shoe wouldn't both pumps be sucking air? last what seal are you talking about for the drive shaft? thanks for the help

I called s dealer today and they told me not to use the foam gasket to use ultra black, he said the foam gaskets are junk and they have not used them in years. He said be sure not to use just a rtv but use the ultra black,

I use the foam seal. I remove the Pump at least once a Year. I don't like fighting to get the Pump housing off.
I think its sucking air from the shaft seal. It being a 95 I think it has a seal carrier.
With the PTO Cover off You will see a grease fitting on the flywheel looking thing. (PTO) and a grease fitting on a sleeve around the
Drive Shaft.(seal carrier)
Inside the seal carrier are three seals and a needle bearing. The bearings sometime seize and the sleeve will twist the thru-hull
fitting (plastic tube) moulded in the fiberglass till its leaking or melted.
I hope this is all it is. Your boat has one intake and two jet pumps. Thats one big Sole Plate or shoe plate. I think if the sole was
leaking, Both pumps would cavitate.
The only other thing I could think it might be is striped driveshaft splines. If it is Your looking at replacing a driveshaft and either
a PTO or the impeller.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Junk = Extra time & more time in the shop = more billable $$$ for dealer.. :)

i'm having the same problem with cavitation on my right engine and dont know where to start, as jet pumps are new to me.

i would change the seal between the back of the boat and the jet pump. If that is not it check the clearance between the impeller aand the wearring. More than not it is that seal. The seadoo shop i talked to told me not to use the seal use the ultra black but others say not to use the ultra black and use the seal so it is up to you.
