95 seadoo xp smoking box

I just replaced the mpem as it was blowing 5 amp fuse everytime I tried to start it. First time I tried to start it after replacing the mpem, it started normally but the box behind the VTS started smoking and glowing red. What is that box for and why would this happen?

Sounds like the VTS module, basically brain for the VTS.

Unplug all wires going to it because they have been known to fry MPEMS when they short out.
