I believe the hole is to let any accumulated oil/fuel to drain, the only thing I would worry about is the remaining piece of aluminum breaking off in the future, it looks like it's already broke at the bottom. I would stuff paper towels in it and pretend you're pulling a tooth with a pair of channelocks, and you don't buy a case half, they are a matched set. I'm a 787 guy but basically the same as far as this is concerned I believe. Lee

I was just saying the crankcase halves are a matched set, if it was mine I would remove the rest of the aluminum that appears to be cracked to assure it doesn't break off and go through a transfer, maybe Matt, Miki or Jeremy will add to this just in case I'm missing something. Is there any chance the already broken piece is in the bottom or did you go through it? Read too many post's to remember.....

The crankcase was broke off like that when I bought it off eBay I just thought it being broke would not matter I was just trying to make sure that would change the way it would run

It looks like a clean break to me. It probably should be replaced, but I don’t think you’re going to hurt anything by running it. It might change the way your intake charge flows into the crankcase, but I don’t really think flow rates have THAT big an effect on two strokes...

Ok thanks so it should be fine like that I still have to pull the motor and put new crankshaft seals on it I’m hoping that helps my problem about it running lean

Well if you’ve got to split the case again, I’d just go ahead and buy some used cases then. Call Westside Powersports and see what they can set you up with.

So is my crankshaft seals bad the motor only has 2 hours on new ones and I have to cut the gas off to crank it and when it starts I turn the gas back on but the motor try’s to cut off at full throttle you can give it a little bit of choke to make it run better but I’m talking about only a hair anymore choke it dies completely is this a lean condition?

When I was driving it the battery light would come on every now and then I get no lights beeps nothing when I hit the start button but if I put a screwdriver on the 2 connections on the relay it will turn over any help would be great

Low battery would indicate either the battery is weak or the voltage regulator isn't charging.

Why would the motor turn over with a screwdriver on the relay though and not get nothing when I try the start button thanks Tim

Solenoid could be bad, kill switch, start/stop button or computer, even a low battery could crank but not have enough power to fire the plugs. If it’s the battery though you should at least get a clunk when pushing the start button.

The only thing jumping the solenoid tells you is the cables and starter are good.

Wow this is all over the place. I would start with the carbs rather than the engine having the problem If I believe I have an electrical problem I replace the rectifier first then make sure the battery is charging properly. Check the grounds. Good Luck !!
