Nothing popped up on my recent WTB posting, but kudos to my local BRP dealer, Basecamp Motorsports (Calgary). They tracked a tray down at a dealer in Quebec, and it's on its way here now. Impressive for an obsolete part.

So my next question is: How are these things mounted? Is there a metal plate embedded in the FRE that I'll be riveting into once the existing rivets are drilled out?

Drill the head off the old rivet and use a punch to tap the rest of the rivet through into the hull, it will stay in the air cavity/no getting it out. I think they are 3/16 and they only grab into fiberglass as stated before.

Another approach you could take is using a very course thread pan head type of screw into the fiberglass, something similar to how downhill ski bindings are attached. Just be very careful about the length. It's not the end of the world if a small hole gets punched through the hull, but it just takes extra work to fix the fiberglass.
