Greetings, I just bought a 95 GTX and have a couple of performance questions relating to it. It seems to be running great, no apparent issues. What can I expect for a top speed in this? The speedo says 65, but I have only been able to get it to 45. (seems like 90 :) ) Also, how fast should I go through a tank of fuel. I am going through a tank in 3-4 hours of running. Most at WOT. I have no idea as to what has been done to it. I know the injection pump is up a little higher than stock. It also says "formula jet pump" on the back of the hull as well as "team solas" I know these could mean nothing. Any info would be great as to what this could / should be doing. Also, what type of performance mods are available for this unit? I know it's a 657 motor, is there any larger motor I can swap for it?

You have a 657X motor, familied with the 720 motor. both four wire Stator system.
You could go to the 720 engine & carbs, and use the same electronics already in the ski. You could go with a 15/22 swirl prop, or one from a 95 xp. That ski was one of the best rental skies ever because of the high rear gunwales that gave it great stability. Bills86e

sweet gig bro....and about your stickers on the rear of the hull, somebody has FOR SURE by now put a new impellor, wear ring and maybe a nozzle or some other pump parts on that ski by now...the stick sticks probably came with the parts and found a home on the back of the ski...:bigear:

For a 15yr. old ski with a 657 motor 45mph sounds about right. If everything were perfect, maybe 48mph. It's a great ski, very stable, very reliable. As they say here in Kentucky "you done good".

I have a 96GTI (same hull design) and a 717 she will top out at about 52mph but runs best at about 45mph.
