Hello everyone,
I have a 1995 gtx that has an intermittent issue where it doesn’t turn over.
This only happened one time so far (my first time using it this year) and sometimes when I pressed the button it would crank and sometimes it would just sit (sometimes i could press it again and it would go and sometimes i would press it like 30 times before it went). I tried reseating the kill switch and the battery cables were tight. Once it started cranking I could crank it as long as I wanted to but once I let go it was a gamble if it would crank again.
The battery was fully charged and after all the cranking I did (My carbs got gummed up in storage since it would only stay running on 1/2 choke) it only went down to 12.5. The issue seemed to happen regardless of the battery voltage.
Ski history:
Bought in covid and had it running but never cleaned the carbs/gray file lines. We ran the engine lean and killed the pto cylinder so we rebuilt the top end and the carbs/fuel system and it has worked good for the next few years. Last year end of the season I had a bad gas cap and some water got in but I fixed the cap and changed the gas and I am where it is today.
