cleaned the carbs twice, replaced diaphrams. replaced main fuel line and put a inline filter right before the carbs. also replaced the line inbetween the two carbs. new spark plugs. I set the adjustment screws same as they were before (carbs had never been touched). it will run but its hard to start. acts like its flooded, have to crank for a long time with the throttle open and it will eventually run. even does it when warm. pretty much anytime you shut it off its a battle to restart. this is a seadoo out of the pair I just bought. the compression is on the low side, 120 psi on both, but even at least. what should I try? turn the idle jets closed some?

also before anyone suggests replacing all the fuel lines and rebuilding carbs with mikuni kits, new top end kit etc.... i am just in the testing phase if this project, and I am trying to determin whether this seadoo is worthy of some $$$ invested.

The compression being down to 120 is your problem. That motor is in need of a top end... I also highly recommend removing the inline filter. The factory water separator does a good job, and the inline filters can cause problems with fuel flow.

the in line filter is just temporary I wanted to ensure clean fuel without replacing all the grey lines. I have new hose coming out of the filter to the carbs. flow appears good I can see the gas running through the filter.

so I guess the question now is to rebuild or find another ski. I wont be out much as I figured at least one of the seadoos I bought would be junk. if salvage at least one of the two I'll be ok on the deal. I kind of like having matching units but Id also like to get something a little more sporty. Hmm. I suppose the another option is to just run it till it quits.

it was the diagphrams if anyone in the future has the same problem. i put cheap aftermarket ones in to begin with. just replaced them with mikuni diagphrams and it fires right up and runs good. the aftermarket parts were a little thicker. i threw them all away, garbage.

Yes, aftermarket carb parts will cause problems almost 100% of the time...
