94 XP No spark Issue

Need help before i list this pos on marketplace, just about at wits end. 94 xp. Ran fine this spring before i took it apart to give it a deep hull cleaning, engine paint, etc. Got everything back together and it has very intermittent spark as per my bulb spark tester. Very intermittent as in it only lit twice in hours of trying to diagnose. Strong battery, plug wires clipped. Not seeing any voltage out of the cdi connections that go into the coil. No spark with the red/black wire unplugged. Grounds are all clean. I need guidance.

Ground wire will deteriorate froM the inside and be clean on the ends. Replace the ground wire. I have used a short set of jumper cables and ran to battery to starter to rule the main ground out.

pretty sure i checked continuity on that ground wire before i put the starter back on but ill take it back off again to check.

just inspected it and put it on the meter. main ground is fine, ends are clean as is the metal on the starter. any other suggestions?

i think i may have a bad mpem. failed the second ohm test in the manual. this will be the second bad mpem in 3 seasons.
