94 SP 587 Oil in Exhaust

Hey Guys,

New member here. Hoping everything is correct here. I'll start by saying I purchased a 94 SP with a 587, that has had the "Carb rebuilt" and new fuel lines were put in. It also has the oil injection deleted, requiring it to run on pre-mix. It has difficulty starting without starting fluid or pre-mix poured down the throat of the carb.

Once running, it will idle (with lotssss of smoke), and after about 20 seconds of it being on, I start the water from the garden hose on the "T" port, after turning the water on it dies out. Then there is what I would like to say a concerning amount of oil coming out of the exhaust port (I can reply with photos if interested). I have read some concerning forum posts about bad crank case seals, and I'm hoping there is some other hope. I'm familiar with small engines, etc., but am new to PWCs as you could probably tell. Any help would be appreciated!

Using the flush kit found here:

TLDR;
Why is there a concerning amount of oil coming out of the exhaust port....? Where? from pre-mix? from reservoir?
Why would it die out after turning on the water?

How long are you running it on the hose? Really no need to have the hose on when running it out of the water as the hose is really only for flushing the cooling system in reverse from normal flow. Max it should be running out of the water is 35-40 seconds or maybe a minute or so on the hose. Did you have the hose on full pressure? I wouldn’t worry too much about much about the oil coming out the exhaust, I’ve seen it on a few of my machines, I run them in land 30 seconds at a time, with 15 or 20 minute rest between the 30 second interval of run time till it clears. I don’t want it spewing that into the waterways .
