Is there a difference in the pump and impeller between a 94 GTX W/580 engine and a 95 GTX W/657X engine. I just picked up a 94 which the owner had changed out the origional 580 engine with a 657X. Just wandering if I need to change the impeller. I do have an impeller from an 94 XP that had a 657X engine that I might be able to use. Could the impeller that is in there now work OK?

Off the top of my head… I can’t give you the impeller specs… but yes, the impeller on the 657 engine will have more pitch, and the outlet nozzle can be a different size.
If you aren’t bumping off the rev limiter all the time, you are OK… but if you put in a good impeller, you will take advantage of bigger engine’s power.
