Hi -
I'm new at this, please help. On my 93 SPX with the twin carb, the motor starts and idles OK but when throtle up fast, it bogs down. I removed the air intake to the flame arester and spay carb cleaner on to the flame arester. When I spay on the front side, the motor revs up but when I spay on the rear side, it bogs down. Can you tell me what could be the problem. That was before I read about carb cleaner is bad for the filter. Also, is there a detail instruction of removing and installing the twin carb from/to the motor available? I saw only the detail disassembling and rebuild the carb itself.
Thank you very much

The manual has the detailed instructions on how to remove the carbs.

Sounds to me that you need to do a fuel system clean out. (Carbs, fuel select valve, and filter)

I Agree :agree:

At first when you notice the engine is running less than 100%, change the spark plugs. If it persists, Don't ride it. Find the cause. In your case, Do a compression test, this gives an idea of the engines health. You have an older engine. Its running lean. Find the cause. Do a lower case pressure test, this gives an idea whether the crank seals are letting air in. If so, you'll need a complete rebuild. Find the cause by pulling the head off. You can tell alot by the piston wash whats happening in the ring lands. It only takes a few hours to read the Shop Manual and do these DIY tests. Seadoo need a clean fuel delivery to feed two thirsty carbs.
