92 gtx won't turn over...help for the newbie

I purchased this 92 gtx not running, now I am looking to get fired up. The prior owner said it would start and the die. The battery is good, the kill switch and tether switch check out. The motor does not even try to turn over with the start button, If you jump the cylenoid it turns over. First I need to get it turning over with the starter switch, then I need to get the spark to the plugs. I have tried a new mpem...no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

well you will need to replace the selonoid if it is bad......when you press the start button put a volt meter on the ignition small terminal of the selonoid and make sure that it is getting the ignition signal when you press the start button.
