Tried to start my 96 787, no spark. Had it running about 5 weeks ago. Been sunk before so Ive pulled the mag cover and found a heap of crud, and scale on the ignition trigger.

Cleaned it and checked, getting 238 ohms accross the contacts on the back of the trigger, but im measuring 2.6M ohms at the plug through the magnetto cover. dodgy wire, or do i have to replace the trigger complete.

When I reasemble and crank the motor over ( get two beeps on lanyard post ), where do i test to see if the coil is at fault ( one coil with two plug leads coming out of it (dual coil? ). Should there be a pulse at the coil white wire when i cranking it over?
