My stator needs a repair as it has arc'd at one point. Has anyone had any sucess rewinding? Im trying to get away with a repair rather than a complete rewind. I counted 35 turns round one lamination, can anyone confirm this?

cheers, Im way down in New Zealand so s/h parts down here are as scarse as hens teeth. I suppose if a s/h stator hasnt got wet it should last forever. One of the bolts that holds the front plate to the balance shaft housing came loose and got jammed in mine, causing it to short out.

Thanks again, Just had contact from a mate here in town who repowered his challanger with a 951 and has externally mounted an alternator running of the rear pto to power all his accessories, ( big stereo set up ) as well as his engine requirements. Cool setup.

He found the stator from its original 787 that blew up.
