Trying to find a rotary valve cover for my 97 gsx. Not having any luck finding one with the part number from my parts catalog. Are all 787 carb rv covers the same?

Don't worry about the seadoo part numbers, just select the same model and year on the SBT parts selector. SBT doesn't use oem numbers. And yes, all carbed 787's use the same cover.

I found a longer bolt and removed the washer and it tightened up so I finished putting the rebuilt carbs on and she fired up second try. Set idle then oil pump. I’m gonna take it out this weekend but I wanna get a rotary valve cover and change it out. This ski is too nice to Mickey mouse

What is the problem with your RV cover? Longer bolt? If you have a thread issue a Helicoil will take care of that pretty quick.

It was over tightened and the threads came out with the bolt. I found a cap screw about 5mm longer and it grabbed and I was able to secure it for now. My concern with a heli coil is the casting isn’t that thick it’s the top left on pto side

Helicoil is way stronger than the aluminum. I wouldn't replace the cover. Too easy and you know what you have works. On a side note, the helicoil is about the same thickness as a "nut", for good reason. That's all it needs. I'd check the others as well. Same goofball likely tightened all 4 LOL. Good Luck !!

You have lost the majority of the threads and the longer bolt is only engaging the last few threads. This is a recipe for disaster. Fix it correctly. If that cover leaks air your engine will lean out and fry itself in seconds.
