Case is split and cleaned up, how stiff should the rotary shaft be to turn? It turns without any play and the brass gear is good but it certainly isn’t free enough to ‘spin’ is this normal or should I be able to spin it freely?
You shouldn't be able to just flick it and it spin you will have to physically spin it with your hand. Its it's really hard to spin then you may have an issue.
