More questions, sorry.

Just about to start rebuilding the engine. Am going to lube the bearings with xps 2, use three bond 1211 on the case and was going to use loctite 242 on the bolts. Although someone has now told me I can’t use 242 on the bolts, I need to a sealant, is that right?
Also I have heard of peolw using the 1211 on the outside of the bearings and internal seals, is that a good idea?

Any help much appreciated
Thanks

Download the manual for free and it will tell you what sealant and locker to use and where. You are going to need it for the torque values and sequence anyways.

No sealant goes on the bearings or seals. Grease on the internal seal lips and XPS on the bearing rollers.

I have always done mine the way the manual says. I wouldn't put 1211 on the bolts.
You can get the Permatex 518 from any Napa auto parts which is the same as the 515, I use it on the pump nozzle and air cleaner base just like the factory too.
