787 bogging

I was out riding today and rode for a few hours straight and it worked perfect. Then I stopped at a marina and filled up and rode for a little bit then it’s started bogging really bad to the point I could even come close to plain. Another thing if I shut it off for a bit then turn it back on it would run wide open for a tiny bit until it would do it all over again

Check your fuel bowl,,,maybe water in the gas? Is it charging? Try running the inline from the fuel pickup directly to the carb.

Checked the plugs and they are getting fuel I originally thought it was fuel but now thinking it could be rectifier

To test rectifier, rev ski to 5500 ish rpm, the voltage at the battery should be 13.5 to 14.5

Would I be able to tell at idle or it has to be reved up to that

Also for the 3 hours I rode pretty much non stop the 12 volt low never came on or can a rectifier go and not throw that light and sensor?

Yes, sometimes the rectifier can put too much of a load on the motor and put out too much voltage instead of to little

I put the multimeter on today and brought it up to about 5600 and was right about 14 at the battery thoughts?

Is there any way for me to test just the rectifier with the multimeter like connect it to the red and black wires?

No, if you got 14 volts then your rectifier is fine.

To test i would run the reserve line from the tank directly to the carb to bypass the fuel filter and the fuel selector

I took the carbs off and the one fuel filter was quite clean the other you can hardly see light through

Which line is the reserve line?

If one carb was dirty you could try running it first. On the fuel tank there is a lable on the fuel baffle "RES" take that and run it straight to the carb. Although if your filter was dirty thats probably it

What color are your fuel lines? If they are grey I would replace them all as they build up a green goo. If its still running poorly then rebuild your carbs with genuime mikini parts including new needles and seats
