I have two 1997 gtx seadoos with good 787's in them and also have two 2004 GTI lx's with blown up 717/720's??? in them. The 1997's were way faster and the electronics in them are toast. Will the 97 787s go easily into the 2004's?
What will I need todo this?
Thanks

No, they will not. Different mounting points to the hull, exhaust, electronics just to name a few. It is not worth the trouble.

the 717 was kind of the last holdout for 2 strokes sold by seadoo, basically their economy 2 stroke that they kept alive for a few years after they stopped producing the other engines.

The 720 3 seater was always the entry level ski used to keep cost down. They are a little under-powered but still fun and dead reliable. Eventhough we have 6 skis from a HX to a 2001 XP 951 my wife still won't let me sell her 2003 GTI 720.

And as far as "the newer skis having less power", the same 3 seat hull could be had with a 720 and a 787 from 1997-2005 and with a 720, 787 and 951 from 1998-2002.

Not exactly, You forgot the good old 3D. 2005 was the last year of the 720 but the last holdout of the 2-stroke was the 2007 3D with the 951 DI.
