got a 717 motor for my 94 spx. is there a easy way to line up the rv like put mag piston at highest point, and line rv with the little tab sticking up? also does the 717 have more degree cut out than the 657? when rv is on the shaft should the opening be from the bottom of the mag intake to the tab sticking up. thanks for the help

The two motors are as different as night & Day! Not interchangeable parts. RV, CARBS, FLYWHEEL, STATOR, E-BOX with MPEM, are matched sets.
Download a SHOP MANUAL for the Donor ski 720 engine. You use a degree wheel to
set the 159* RV. The proceedure for that and the other questions you WILL HAVE
are answered in that Shop Manual. The 720 motor will bolt in, no problem. Bills86e
