Guys, can I test the secondary on my coil while it’s still in the ski? I’m getting zero resistance on the ends of the plug wires. I get .6 across the spade connectors as it should be. The coil is still bolted in, do I have to remove it to test the plug wires? Thanks.

Are all of the wires to the coil disconnected? As long as they are disconnected there is no difference the location of the coil when you check it. Remove the spark plugs caps and test with and without the caps installed.

What is the ski doing that makes you think the coil is faulty? Are you getting a signal to the coil?

I was able to get a reading with the caps on. Maybe I didn’t have my probes shoved into the ends of the wires enough with caps off. I trimmed the wires back 1/4”. The reason I’m testing is I’m still chasing a weak or lazy midrange and the spark when looking at the plug while cranking seems really weak. Guess I’m used to the flame show from a dirt bike plug over the years. I have a ‘94 gts that runs like a champ, and it looks the same and measures the same at the plug caps so I think I’ll keep looking elsewhere. Thanks for the reply
