587 to 717 compatibility

Hello, I saw a thread on all the parts required to swap out a 587 with a 717, however, I was wondering if I can use the stator off the 587 for the 717?

also, can I use the rest of the eletrical equiptment from the 587 on the 717? or does it have to be all new?

You should be able to use the stator on the 720, but you will be limiting it's red line to 6500 rpm's.

ok so that means all eletrical systems will work with it from my 89.

also, is that because of the rev limiter? I could just take off the ground for it and it won't effect anything
