587 swap a 96xp

Hello all, I currently have a 93 Sp and a 96 xp and I was wondering is the engine from the sp would fit in the xp. The xp works fine but it's a little too rowdy for me but I prefer the color of the 96 over the 93 so I want to put the sp engine in it.

Yes. The engines will swap. Make sure to use the exhaust pipe, and water box. Swap the impeller or the entire pump housing to get the performance.

Will it fit...yes.

Will it be easy....no

They have 2 entirely different engine mounting configurations. You're going to have to fabricate a belly pan that will hit the front mount like the 787 has. So if your fab skills are good it's totally possible. It by no means is a direct bolt in and swap a few parts and you're ready to go so don't let someone lead you down that path.

Or, paint your 93 all yellow.

I don't think it would be hard to detune a 787 if you just want to mellow out the ski.

Never heard of anyone wanting to make their ski slower, its always the other way around.
