587 Break In

Hello All,

I am just completing my top end rebuild on the 1996 SPI. I removed the oil pump and have premix. What is a good method of Break In ?? Hours, speeds, RPM Etc... Help would be appreciated.

First there is no good reason to remove the oil injection.
Break in is for the first half tank don’t go over 1/3 throttle and vary the throttle up and down, don’t hold it at one speed. Also run it for 15 minuets then cool for 30 minuets repeating this over and over. Next half tank same thing up to 1/2 throttle. Next half thank same thing up to 3/4 throttle. Last half tank you can go to full throttle but don’t ever hold it there.
