My RXT 300 has 6 hrs on it. After putting it in the water last week I noticed a flash warning on the dash of the exhaust overheating. I dialed back the throttle a little and I didn’t see it again. After some spirited driving by my nephew for about 15 minutes he noted the same thing. My brother took a ride in front of the cottage and brought it right back to the dock noting something was wrong and the ski was very low in the water. We were at a loss so we opened up the seat and the engine bay was at least half full with water. The hose clamp securing the open water system that cools the exhaust had come off. So water was filling the engine compartment. It was a good thing we didn’t take out into open water on Lake Muskoka. I don’t know what would have happened. We beached it, called my dealer who came right away and got it out of the water and drained it right away. A simple clamp. Too bad. It’s stuff like this that gives manufacturers nightmares. Met ski is still at the dealer. Waiting for results of full test.

A lot of people had that problem with the rxtx 300s . What I found out when dealer uncrates the ski the good dealers will check the clamps a lot of guys were checking the clamps themselves I know I did

Another thing when you or whoever changes the oil they do not like to be overfilled . They like to be right in middle of Gage marks if you overfill by 1/4 of a quart you will have performance issues .
